Keynote Presentation: 1500 Systems and Counting – The Experience of a Healthcare Enterprise Heavily Virtualized

Mr. Sikora has over 30 years experience in the Information Technology industry based in Manufacturing and Health Care. He is currently responsible for Enterprise Transformation, Technical Infrastructure & Production Services as well as the Electronic Health Record at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
Over the last 30 months, UPMC has successfully virtualized over 1500 systems in their UNIX, LINUX and Windows environments. This presentation will discuss some of the pitfalls and the and successes of the effort. Applications have grown over 200 percent in this time frame; data center floor space, power and cooling has remained flat, and they documented a $30 million cost avoidance as a result of the virtualization effort.

Denise Webb, WI eHealth Manager
Keynote Presentation: Wisconsin eHealth Initiative

Ms. Webb is the eHealth Program Manager in the Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services (DHFS) Office of Policy Initiatives and Budget (OPIB). She is currently responsible for the planning, development, and implementation of major policy and program initiatives in the area of eHealth Care Quality and Patient Safety, including Wisconsin's eHealth 5-year Action Plan.
Denise will be sharing the experience of the Wisconsin eHealth Initiative to drive improvements in Wisconsin’s health care quality (including better preventative care, chronic disease management, and population health), safety, transparency, efficiency, and cost effectiveness through statewide adoption and use of electronic health records (EHR) and interoperable health information exchange (HIE).
